Sr: Има времена кога град спава, али са бројним туристама, никад не одмори у потпуности.

Sr: Изабрале су мали кафић у кварту Дорћол, место које ишара срце најстаријег дела града.
En: They chose a small café in the Dorćol neighborhood, a place that marks the heart of the oldest part of the city.

Sr: На малом столу пред њима лежала је чаша, испуњена златно жутим пићем.
En: On a small table in front of them was a glass filled with golden yellow liquid.

Sr: Придружио им се и Марко, стари али неке љубазни пријатељ.
En: Marco, an old but kind friend, joined them.

Sr: Јелена гледа у чашу и затим гледа према новом познатом顙у, туристи који гледа у њих са забуњеношћу.
En: Jelena looks at the glass and then gazes towards the new familiar faces, tourists looking at them with curiosity.

Sr: "Ово је ракија," каже она последњем.
En: "This is rakija," she says to the last one.

Sr: Изгубљено, туриста погледа у чашу, па се поново окрене према Јелени.
En: Lost, the tourist looks at the glass, then turns back to Jelena.

Sr: "Шта је то?
En: "What is this?"

Sr: "Марко насмеши.
En: Marco smiles.

Sr: "Ракија, пријатељу, није само пиће," каже он кроз широки осмех.
En: "Rakija, my friend, is not just a drink," he says with a broad smile.

Sr: "То је битно средство за преживљавање овде.
En: "It is an essential survival tool here."

Sr: ""Марко је у праву", расположена Ана ће порећи, краста се.
En: "Marco is right," Ana agrees with a smirk.

Sr: "Постоји песма коју певају местанци, која каже, 'у добрим и лошим временима, ракија је ту.
En: "There's a song sung by locals that says, 'in good and bad times, rakija is there.'"

Sr: "Упркос њиховим објашњењима, туриста и даље изгледа слегнуто.
En: Despite their explanations, the tourist still looks puzzled.

Sr: Јелена подиже чашу, погледавајући га у очи.
En: Jelena raises the glass, looking him in the eye.

Sr: "Ово је више од пића.
En: "This is more than a drink.

Sr: Ово је део наше културе.
En: This is part of our culture."

Sr: "И тада туриста крене, храбро узима чашу и ноздрвама обилази непознат мирис, пре него што прогута.
En: And then the tourist hesitates, bravely takes the glass and swirls the unfamiliar scent with his nostrils before swallowing.

Sr: Након што га је прошло напад кашља, он каже: "Укусно је.

Sr: Али мислим да почињем да разумем.
En: But I think I'm starting to understand."

Sr: "Усред ноћи, град и даље не одмара.
En: In the midst of the night, the city still does not rest.

Sr: Ћићурија радости и смеха пролази кроз улице.
En: Waves of joy and laughter pass through the streets.

Sr: И на месту где су Ана, Јелена и Марко чекали, светла у кафићу сјају мало светлије, а мирис ракије попуњава ваздух.
En: And at the place where Ana, Jelena, and Marco waited, the lights in the café shine a little brighter, and the smell of rakija fills the air.

Sr: А на лицу туристе, сада златне боје ракије, крило се разумевање.
En: And on the face of the tourist, now with a golden hue from the rakija, there was the glimmer of understanding.

Sr: И тада, на том месту, у оном трену, он почење да разумеју и да осећа срце тог града - Београда.
