En: The air in Tel Aviv is thick and humid, the remnants of the night rolling through the streets.

He: שרה, דוד ומרים מושתלמים על ספה מקנהם בקפה "זיו" הפופולרי בשדרה.
En: Sarah, David, and Miriam are planted on a couch at the popular "Ziv" café on Rothschild Boulevard.

He: איכשהו, הם הצליחו לזעזע את הצלחת החיוך של המלצר וכעת יש להם שאפה על השולחן.
En: Somehow, they managed to wipe the smile off the waiter's face and now have a plate of pastries on the table.

He: שרה, פרחה בוהקת, מצחיקה, מחזיקה פסעיה של השאפה ביד ומנסה להסביר את המושג "תכלס" לדוד, החבר החדש שלה מבריטניה.
En: Sarah, vibrant and amusing, holds the handle of the pastry in her hand and tries to explain the concept of "takluss" to David, her new friend from Britain.

En: Takluss is more than just saying 'that's it.'

En: It's like you want to put aside all the pretense and nonsense and speak from the heart, directly."

He: ""או כשאתה כבר לא רוצה לשמוע את הטמטום של מישהו ואתה אומר לו 'תכל'ס', נשמע כמו 'תספיק לדפוק לי את הראש'" מוסיפה מרים, חולצתה חולפת בעדינות את צבעי השקיעה.
En: "Or when you're tired of someone's nonsense and you tell them 'takluss,' it sounds like 'enough of banging my head,'" adds Miriam, her shirt gently brushing the colors of the sunset.

He: חיוך מתפשט על פני דוד, "אה, אז זה כמו להגיד 'cut the crap?
En: A smile spreads across David's face, "Oh, so it's like saying 'cut the crap'?"

En: You can take the British out of Tel Aviv, but you can't take Tel Aviv Jaffa out of the Brit."

En: With one last chuckle and a final pastry bite, they conclude the evening, still pondering explanations, an indeterminate transference, and hummus for tomorrow.

En: David knows he will return for another visit, feeling once again that same eagerness to learn more than he knows.
