He: נמהרו הרחובות המוכרים של תל אביב, חם ולח בליל של בינוני. במרכז העיר, ממול לגן מאיר פרק המשא ומתן חפוז. עדי ומאיה שוויות בנחמדותם חיכו לדוד, חברם היקר שהגיע באיחור נחמד.
En: The familiar streets of Tel Aviv hurriedly bustled in the warm and humid evening. In the city center, across from Meir Park, there was a busy exchange of goods at the flea market. Adi and Maya stood patiently, eagerly awaiting David, their dear friend who arrived fashionably late.

He: "מה אתה אומר?" שאלה מאיה בטירוף, מניעה את שמלת הקיץ שלה בחיוך רחב.
En: "What do you say?" Maya asked anxiously, twirling her summer dress with a broad smile.

He: "לא אני לא יודע לרקוד הורה," אמר דוד בנחת, "אתן יודעות שאני לא יודע לרקוד."
En: "No, I can't dance, guys," David replied calmly. "You know I don't know how to dance."

He: עדי צחקה, "אף אחד לא יודע לרקוד הורה, דוד. זה חלק מהכיף".
En: Adi laughed. "No one can do the hoedown, David. It's part of the fun."

He: דוד הביט בשתי חברותיו וניזר קצת גבה. הן תמיד משכנעות אותו לעשות דברים שהוא לא רוצה. אבל הוא ידע שהן רק מחפשות את הטוב לו.
En: David glanced at his two friends and hesitated slightly. They always managed to convince him to do things he didn't want to. But he knew they were only looking out for his best interests.

He: "האירוע הזה חשוב לי" הוסיפה מאיה, "ואני רוצה שתהיה לי כיף. בבקשה דוד."
En: "This event is important to me," Maya added. "And I want to have fun. Please, David."

He: ההורה המסורתית הזו הייתה חלק חשוב מהטקס. דוד פשוט היה צריך ללמוד להתמודד עם החרדה שלו מלרקוד בציבור.
En: This traditional custom was an integral part of the ceremony. David simply needed to learn to cope with his anxiety about dancing in public.

He: סוף סוף, לאחר שעה שלמה של משא ומתן, דוד נכנע. הוא הבטיח שיתאמן עם עדי ומאיה ושינסה להיכנע לריקוד. הן קפצו משמחה.
En: Finally, after an entire hour of back and forth, David surrendered. He promised to practice with Adi and Maya and to try to give in to the dancing. They jumped with joy.

He: "אתה לא תתחרט, דוד!" צחקה עדי, "אתה תהיה ההפתעה הגדולה של החתונה!"
En: "You won't regret it, David!" Adi laughed. "You'll be the surprise of the wedding!"

He: ובאותו הערב, תחת שמים מאווררים של תל אביב, התחיל השלשה לתרגל הורה, מחייכים בשיחרור ומשתעשעים ברחובות העיר הרעשנית. היה להם כיף, ודוד הרגיש שהן אולי צודקות. אולי הוא יהיה אכן ההפתעה הגדולה של החתונה.
En: And that evening, under the cool Tel Aviv air, the trio began rehearsing the hoedown, smiling with liberation and enjoying themselves in the bustling city streets. They had fun, and David felt that perhaps they were right. Maybe he would indeed be the surprise of the wedding.
