Discovering Pintxos in Begur

Story Transcript:
Ca: En Joan, un turista de València, només havia sentit parlar dels pintxos a les històries de la seva família, però estava a punt de descobrir el món dels pintxos en el lloc més inesperat.
En: Joan, a tourist from Valencia, had only heard of pintxos in the stories of his family, but he was about to discover the world of pintxos in the most unexpected place.

Ca: Tot va començar quan Joan va arribar a Begur, un poble antic i encantador enclavat entre els turons de la Costa Brava.
En: It all began when Joan arrived in Begur, an old, charming town nestled between the rolling hills of the Costa Brava.

Ca: Des del moment en què va baixar de l’autobús, en Joan va saber que estava de gust.
En: From the moment he stepped off the bus, Joan knew he was in for a treat.

Ca: Se sentia com si l’haguessin transportat a un altre temps i lloc, on els veïns l’acollien amb calidesa i hospitalitat.
En: He felt as if he had been transported to a different time and place, where the locals welcomed him with warmth and hospitality.

Ca: L’endemà de la seva arribada, el Joan estava sortint a explorar la ciutat.
En: The morning after his arrival, Joan was out exploring the town.

Ca: Va passejar pels sinuosos carrers empedrats, admirant les vistes i els sons de la ciutat.
En: He wandered around the winding cobblestone streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the town.

Ca: Mentre caminava, va notar l’olor d’alguna cosa deliciosa que flotava per l’aire.
En: As he walked, he noticed the smell of something delicious wafting through the air.

Ca: Va seguir l’olor fins que el va portar a un petit restaurant familiar.
En: He followed the scent until it led him to a small, family-run restaurant.

Ca: El restaurant estava ple de gent local xerrant i rient amb pintxos.
En: The restaurant was filled with locals chatting and laughing over pintxos.

Ca: En Joan havia sentit parlar de pintxos abans, però mai els havia vist de prop.
En: Joan had heard of pintxos before, but he had never seen them up close.

Ca: Estava fascinat pels petits trossos de menjar, cadascun més deliciós que l’anterior.

Ca: Així va començar l’amor d’en Joan amb els pintxos.

Ca: Ràpidament es va convertir en un habitual del restaurant, degustant nous pintxos cada vegada que venia.

Ca: També va fer amistat amb els veïns, que li van ensenyar l’art de muntar els seus propis pintxos.

Ca: Va passar la resta del seu viatge explorant els molts sabors de Begur, des del tradicional fins a l’avantguarda.

Ca: Quan en Joan estava disposat a marxar, ja tenia una nova apreciació per l’art dels pintxos.
En: By the time Joan was ready to leave, he had a newfound appreciation for the art of pintxos.

Ca: Sabia que no podria recrear l’experiència de dinar a Begur, però estava decidit a portar-se els sabors a casa.
En: He knew he wouldn’t be able to recreate the experience of dining in Begur, but he was determined to bring the flavors home with him.

Ca: Abans de marxar, va tornar al restaurant per última vegada i va demanar a la família que li ensenyessin a fer els seus pintxos preferits.
En: Before he left, he went back to the restaurant one last time and asked the family to teach him how to make his favorite pintxos.
